Did you know that Richmond upon Thames is home to the Park Lane Stables based in Teddington?
They are one of the few remaining urban stables, and horses and humans alike are at the heart of the local community. There have been horses here since at least the 1830s, when the local fire service kept them to pull the fire wagon. Today this thriving stable is run by Natalie O’Rourke, helped by a team of BHS instructors and volunteers.
Richmond upon Thames is the is a tranquil retreat for horse lovers and riders of all abilities in and around the borough. There is horse riding in many of our parks including Richmond Park and Bushy Park.
