Whether you want to go for dinner near the river Thames and try the wide range of cuisines or explore our internationally recognised attractions, our beautiful borough will never disappoint.

Richmond upon Thames has thriving range of small and independent businesses including shops, food and drink outlets and other services. Many of these are long serving in the borough, others are newer, but they can all offer good advice, support, convenience, variety and quality. 

Shopping locally is critical for breathing life into our local economy and maintaining a strong jobs market for our residents. It is also an important habit we must all adapt as we continue to tackle climate change. You can limit your own carbon footprint by walking or cycling to your local high street, rather than jumping in the car. We've included a list of the borough's independent bike shops to help you get in the saddle. As well as this, small businesses often support local producers, which reduces the overall footprint of the products you buy and the food and drink you enjoy. 

VisitRichmond in partnership with Richmond Council has been celebrating the people behind these businesses with our #ShopLocal campaign and here on our official website or on our guides you can find what is available in every single area in the borough. Now this is really just a snap-shot - VisitRichmond will encourage you all to hit the streets to see everything that is on offer in our town centres. 

Businesses have worked hard, alongside VisitRichmond and Richmond Council Officers, to ensure every premises is safe for you to visit. 

Spending money locally, and supporting independent local businesses will guarentee the development of our town centres and will ensure local communities continue to strive and produce authentic cuisene or experience we all look forward to.
