Yolanda Charles Project pH

About

The big hit of this year's High Tide Festival in Twickenham was Yolanda Charles' Project pH. Now Off the Rails gives you another chance to witness this funktastic star of the bass guitar. Yolanda's instrumental line up will be playing their unique brand of high-octane rock and funk-infused jazz fusion.

Yolanda has worked with artists including Hans Zimmer, Paul Weller, Robbie Williams, BB King, Eric Clapton, Roger Daltrey, Van Morrison, Mick Jagger and Michael Jackson in a career of thirty years and counting. Her Project pH Instra-mentals group features a diverse range of musical styles, their musical variety has drawn comparisons to Parliament/Funkadelic, Herbie Hancock's Headhunters, Yes and Return to Forever, as well as Jim Beard, Steps Ahead, John Scofield, and even the Mahavishnu Orchestra.

Project pH Instra-mentals features the additional compositional skills of guitarist Nick Linnik, a stunning soloist as well as being co-producer and co-writer of the band's Funk-Fusion sound. Pianist Hamish Balfour trained in both classical & jazz and as a dance music producer, which gives him the perfect mix of skills for the band sound. On drums Nicolas Py has recently joined the line up and adds his solid fresh'n'funky style to the rhythm section.

The group have a long running Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club residency and continue to tour the UK and beyond.
