Barolo, the king of Piedmont, is a powerful and rustic red with an intense and complex flavour profile. Alongside Barbaresco, it is the most famous appellation of Piedmont. A 100% Nebbiolo, it produces powerful, complex, long-lived wines and is well-established as a staple of any serious cellar. Barolo wines have earthy flavours, which pair beautifully with tasty food, the best being white truffles. Also known as Alba truffles, this type of funghi originates from the same region.
