Diana Armfield Drawing From Observation Competition

About

Local charity Arts Richmond is again working with celebrated local artist Diana Armfield (RA NEAC) to run its latest competition for drawing from observation, offering a cash prize of £250 to the winner.

Open to artists aged 16+ across Richmond upon Thames, the competition was created to honour the memory of Diana’s late husband, Bernard Dunstan RA, who used to draw her every day they were married.

Currently aged 102, Diana will judge the entries herself, alongside members of the Arts Richmond Visual Arts Committee.

Diana wishes to encourage artists to draw directly from life, not from photographs or on digital devices. She says:

“All professionals, amateurs and even those who say, ‘I can’t draw a line’ are welcome to submit their drawings!”

All drawings must be brought to ETNA - Arts Richmond, Room 21,13 Rosslyn Road, Twickenham, TW1 2AR between 3rd - 10th February, from 9.30am to 12.30pm. • An exhibition will be held at Patch Twickenham, 42 York Street, TW1 3BW, from 4th - 17th March 2024
