About

Our Easter Concert this year, will be held at St Mary's Barnes, as part of the annual Barnes Music Festival, of which we are a Founder Member.

The BMF Theme this year is "Music and Literature" and our .Musical Director, Julian Collings has designed the programme below, entitled Such Harmony He writes:

The Barnes Choir brings together a glorious selection of texts from Shakespeare to Octavio Paz in a magical choral journey exploring the themes of love, music and nature. Vaughan Williams' celebrated setting of a passage from The Merchant of Venice - Serenade to Music - is contrasted with Will Todd's appropriately colourful choral suite - Songs of Musical Creatures - whilst Donald Fraser's arrangement of Elgar's Sea Pictures brings a new perspective to a perennial favourite. Crowning the programme is Eric Whitacre's Cloudburst, a 'celebration of the unleashed kinetic energy in all things'.

Vaughan Williams - Serenade to Music
Will Todd - Songs of Magical Creatures
Elgar arr. Fraser - Sea Pictures
Eric Whitacre - Cloudburst
