About

The Richmond Mental Health Awareness Initiative is a groundbreaking endeavour designed to bridge significant gaps in mental health awareness and accessibility within the Richmond community. Its primary mission is to cultivate a culture of openness around mental health issues and to provide concrete resources for individuals in need. To achieve these goals, the initiative plans to harness the power of social media and a multifaceted educational approach to engage various demographics within the community.

The study design of this initiative is both interventional and community-based, with a specific focus on raising mental health awareness and offering free screenings throughout Richmond. The local partner, DL Clinic, located at 9 Sheen Road, Richmond upon Thames, Surrey, TW9 1AD, will play a pivotal role in this endeavour. The initiative aims to reach a broad audience through a strategic online campaign.

The primary objective of the initiative is to promote mental health awareness via an online social media campaign. This campaign will be disseminated through the social media channels of the partner business, utilising platforms such as LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook. By engaging with these digital platforms, the initiative seeks to inform and involve various demographics within the Richmond community.

In addition to the online campaign, the initiative has a secondary objective: to conduct a comprehensive workshop on mental health awareness. This workshop will be facilitated by professionals and academics from the local business partner, offering in-depth knowledge and practical strategies for managing mental health. The workshop aims to provide a supportive environment where participants can learn, share experiences, and access valuable resources. Scheduled for 13 June, the workshop will include refreshments, and those interested are encouraged to register here: [https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ZQT39JP].
