About

Quip Shed Comedy is back to host its next comedy gig at The Home Guard in East Sheen this November, and we have quite the line-up for you... Esther Manito, Lily Phillips, Jamie Finn, East Sheen's favourite host Jamie Allerton, and headliner Angelos Epithemiou!

Our opener, Esther Manito, is an Arab Essex girl who will challenge every single preconception of what that means. As seen on Live At The Apollo (BBC), The Stand Up Sketch Show (ITV), Hypothetical (Dave) and heard on: BBC Sounds Russel Kane's Evil Genius, co-hosting Radio 4 Extra's Newsjack Unplugged, CBBC Bitesize Parents, BBC'S Breaking the News and Russell Kane's Boys Don't Cry.

Esther's hour #NotAllMen won best show at Leicester Comedy Festival 2021, and she has supported Alan Davies, Shappi Khorsandi, Sindhu Vee, Jason Mansford, Jo Brand and Al Murray.

"Manito skilfully weaves her own personal story with a wider look at gender issues in society"★★★★ Evening Standard

"At times it's like Victoria Wood has taken the mic" Radio Times

"an astute observer of everyday daftness as well as being able to tackle the bigger issues with wit and guile."– The List

Lily Phillips is one of the most exciting up and coming voices in comedy in the UK. She is BBC New Comedy Award Finalist 2021, Runner Up at the 2019 Leicester Square New Comedian of the Year, Funny Women Finalist 2018, and was a part of prestigious Pleasance Comedy Reserve at the 2019 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

She is a series regular on The Stand Up Sketch Show, and other TV credits include Period Dramas (BBC3), The Joy Of Missing Out (All4), The Fake Podcast show (E4) and Comedy Central Live.

Jamie Finn's critically acclaimed, sell-out Edinburgh Fringe show 'Nobody's Talking About Jamie' received a 5 star review from Theatre Scotland, describing the show as '…fresh from start to finish, his storytelling had the audience hooked and bent over laughing'. Winner of Theatre Weekly's 'Best Fringe Debut', Theatre Weekly's 5 star review called Finn 'A superb performer who knows how to work the audience.'

Jamie has been a finalist twice at The Musical Comedy Awards 2019 & 2020 and was a regional finalist for The BBC New Comedy Awards 2021.

Our headliner, Angelos Epithemiou, is the unwitting star of Shooting Stars (BBC2), Dave's One Night Stand and Channel 4's The Angelos Epithemiou Show. Angelos Epithemiou is the creation of critically acclaimed performer, Dan Renton Skinner, who has starred in such blockbuster films as The Spy Who Dumped Me, High Rise, and Swallows and Amazons for BBC Films and such TV serial-classics as The Tracy Ullman Show, Friday Night Dinner, and The Wrong Mans.

Please note that the line-up is subject to change and this event is for people over the age of 18.
