Quip Shed Comedy is back to host its next comedy gig at The Home Guard in East Sheen this March, and we have quite the line-up for you... Olga Koch, Red Richardson, Abi Carter-Simpson, host Lyle Barke, and headliner Tony Law!
Our opener, Olga Koch, is a writer and comedian, across radio, television and film. She was nominated for Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2018, Best Show at Leicester Comedy Festival in 2020, longlisted for Best Stand Up Show at the National Comedy Awards in 2021 and her show Fight won the 2022 Writer's Guild Award for Best Radio Comedy.
She has also appeared on Mock the Week, QI, Frankie Boyle's New World Order, Late Night Mash, Richard Osman's House of Games, Guessable, Question Team and Live at the Apollo.
Red Richardson is a critically acclaimed stand up comedian, writer, actor and podcaster and is now recognised as one of the most exciting new comics in The UK.
He has twice appeared on The Stand Up Sketch Show on ITV2, is a regular joke writer for '8 out of Ten Cats', '8 out of Ten Cats does Countdown' and 'Live at The Comedy Store' on Comedy Central, and has written on Mock The Week.
Red's 2018 Edinburgh debut "Seeing Red" garnered four star reviews from critics and played to packed houses at The Gilded Balloon. Since then he has co created and co hosted the global smash hit comedy podcast 'Laughable' which has charted around the world, trending on apple for 7 weeks, hitting number 10 in the UK I Tunes comedy charts, number 22 in all categories and has been featured as The Guardian's entertainment 'pick of the week' and The Guardians 'Top 50 comedy podcasts, Pod bibles podcast of the week, as well as Acast's podcasts of the week, I tunes New and Noteworthy and Apple podcast's specially curated 'Shows we love'.
A live performance of this podcast has sold out the big room at The Pleasance Theatre and it continues to grow as one of the UK's top comedy podcasts, despite only launching at the end of January 2021.
Abigail Carter-Simpson is a multitalented comedian, singer, actress and presenter with a gift for making audiences feel at ease, her youthful appearance belying a performing career which is already over ten years in the making. She recently appearing on Britain's Got Talent where she received a clean sweep of "Yes" from the panel.
Abi's passion for comedy writing and performing began with - 'Newsrevue' – one of the world's longest running comedy shows which has alumnus like Sarah Pascoe, Alistair McGowan and Bill Bailey. Many of her songs and parodies have been featured in the show incuding Newsrevue – EdFringe which ran at at The Pleasance Beyond for the full run of August 2017.
Abi has since been introduced fully to the stand up comedy world alongside her trusted ukulele for moral support and she hasn't looked back. She has competed in many competitions supporting the likes of Simon Brodkin & Stephen K Amos.
Abi has appeared on BBC1, ITV2 and SKY 1, where she played Cassandra Laggatt-Brown in Agatha Raisin & The Deadly Dance – appearing alongside Ashley Jensen, Matt Horne and Adam Garcia. You can still view this on catch up TV!
Our headliner, Tony Law, is a three-time Chortle Award winner, Amused Moose Best Show winner and Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee.
