Modern Calligraphy

About

Modern calligraphy is a fresh take on traditional calligraphy lettering, and allows you to incorporate your own style, making it completely unique.

Learn the art of modern calligraphy – whether you are a beginner or an improver, this class is perfect for you.

Using a nib and ink, you will be introduced to the basic techniques of modern calligraphy, from the fine stroke at the beginning of an A to the flourish on the end of a Z. By the end of the class you will be able to produce a beautifully written piece.

The 2 hour workshop will include a personalised starter kit (nib, ink, penholder and practice paper) so you can continue practicing your new lettering skills at home.

During the workshop, there will be exercises that will help you practice the basic forms of modern calligraphy. Adding your own personal style will be heavily encouraged to develop a lettering that’s truly yours.

After the workshop, you will come away feeling inspired and confident with your new writing skill, ready to create hand-written pieces from greeting cards to a personalised print.
