Macbeth Up Close Orange Tree Theatre

About

Ambition, murder and the supernatural combine in Shakespeare’s most thrilling tragedy.

We are delighted to announce the return of Shakespeare Up Close to the Orange Tree Theatre!

Designed for 11 to 16 year olds, this 70-minute abridgement of Macbeth tells the complete story using Shakespeare’s original text.

Contemporary settings and clear, dynamic staging make the play accessible to all, and is perfect for families to discover one of Shakespeare’s best-loved plays.

These productions:

bring the play to life for teenagers who are relatively new to Shakespeare

use Shakespeare’s original text

tell the complete story, including all major characters

reimagine the play in a contemporary setting, making the themes relevant for a young audience
