ABOUT THE KEW HALF

The Kew Half Marathon will start at 8.30am on Sunday 30th March, 2025. Starting on closed roads inside Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, before venturing down the Richmond towpath and riverside to Ham House before turning to finish back at Kew Gardens next to the River Thames. Looking for a tune-up race pre London & Manchester marathon (4 weeks before)? Kew the Run offers a flat and fast course (Check it out!), presenting a perfect chance to lock in to some marathon paced miles. We also have Xempo pace makers to help you judge your pace.

 

ABOUT KEW THE RUN

Kew The Run is a weekend that hosts the Kew Gardens 10km on 29th March 2025 and the Kew Gardens Half Marathon on 30th March, 2025. This Richmond 10K will take on a new course running entirely inside a flat Kew Gardens. The Half will start and finish inside Kew whilst taking on an additional flat and scenic route of the Richmond Riverside before finishing back at Kew.

After the event, finishers and their families* can explore Kew Gardens that holds 50,000 living plants to be found across the UNESCO World Heritage site.

Spectator Admission

Kew Gardens is a ticketed venue so we are delighted that your race entry also allows an additional 2x adults and 2x children (U16) to enter with you FREE of charge when you arrive for the race!

This year spectators MUST enter Kew Gardens with their runner via Elizabeth Gate before 8.20am in order to gain access.  All spectators will be given a wrist band upon entry which will allow them to exit Kew to cheer runners further along the route and then re-enter. Runners and spectators can re-enter Kew Gardens up to 12.00 noon.

Once you are in Kew Gardens after 12:00, you can remain there for the rest of the day but you cannot exit and then re-enter without paying the standard entry fee.

RACE PACK COLLECTION:

Race numbers are for collection only. We have lot's of staff to hand your race number to you on the morning of the race race (from 6.45am) but you can also collect your race number from a sports shop in the area 1 week before. More information on collection as well as your final instructions will be emailed to all runners 2 weeks before race day.

Terrain:

Mixture of flat tarmac inside Kew Gardens with multi terrain on the towpath. Professionally measured and certified (RUN ENGLAND LICENSED EVENT: 28192). No hills!

Starting outside the Hive at Kew Gardens the brand new course run through the beautiful gardens before running down the beautiful thames tow path berfore finishing back at Kew.

This is still London's flattest half marathon and even flatter than last years Richmond Half Marathon. The new course has net drop of 3ft and only a total uphill of 181ft across the whole 13.1miles.

First Aid:

Full professional cover in place throughout the course.

Marshals:

The entire course will be fully marshalled. Marshals are volunteers so please say thanks to these amazing people!

Sweep Marshals:

A sweep Marshal will be present to assist athletes who do not complete the course and will be transported to the finish line.

Water Station Locations:

We have four water stations on the route at the following distances: 5.5miles, 7.7miles, 8.9miles (Energy & Water) & 11 Miles.
