Families on an EarthWalk

About

At Barnes Common we provide wild outdoor learning experiences for all ages! This event is a family activity for adults and children. Bring your little ones along to engage with the wonders of nature at this time of year.

An EarthWalk is a unique, immersive way of engaging with the living world around us. It is "a light, refreshing touch of nature that aims to develop the successive feelings of joy, kinship, reverence, and love for this incredible planet we share and its amazing natural systems and communities of life." - Steve van Matre.

EarthWalks are suitable for all ages - and all adults attending will be encouraged to get involved too!! Starting at Vine Road Recreation Ground we will head onto Barnes Common for a fun stroll, observing and interacting with the things we see, hear and feel.

A few notes - paths are likely to be muddy. Whilst there are buggy friendly alternative, it may mean separating slightly from the group at times. EarthWalks involve bending, crouching, kneeling and sitting, meaning clothes will get dirty and possibly wet. Come dressed appropiately in order to get the full experience! Finally, as mentioned, adults will be encouraged and expected to get involved when possible.
