About

Indulge in the Halloween vibes and join us as we take a deep dive into the literary origins of horrors most iconic monsters...

Join us as we explore the literary origins and influences behind literature's most iconic monsters with a talk on the literary roots and inspirations behind both Dracula and Frankenstein. Richard Gadz is the author of horror novel The Burn Street Haunting and gothic thriller The Workshop of Filthy Creation, which won the Best Horror Award in the 2022 New Generation Indie Book Awards and was shortlisted for the Rubery Prize for Fiction.

In latest creation 'The Eater of Flies' exists a monster who could easily join the ranks of Bram Stoker's Dracula, Richard Gadz's breakout, genre-blurring novel The Eater of Flies leaves traditional vampiric lore behind, offering a chilling Victorian gothic tale laced with crime, pitch-dark humour and, above all, rampant greed: for money, for power … for blood.
