Beverley Brook (Photo by Andrew Wilson)

About

Join us during London Rivers Week for an evening history walk led by our Chair, Mike Hildesley. With a focus on the Beverley Brook and the ponds, you will enjoy Mike's enthusiastic and knowledgeable talk, with anecdotes and facts about the history of Barnes Common.

Find out about the usefulness of village ponds and what makes a healthy river, learn about how our reedbeds improve flood resilience and what important craft material osier beds produce, the water quality of Beverley Brook and lots more.

This walk will start and finish on Barnes Green in front of the OSO.

This walk takes place outdoors and as such please dress appropriately for the weather and wear sturdy footwear.

If the weather is warm, you may wish to bring a bottle of water.

To keep up to date with all Barnes Common events, why not become a friend. It is fun, free and easy to join here:
