Roots and Berries SHH Afternoon Tea

About

The Garden Café run by Roots & Berries occupies the ambient Great Cloister of Strawberry Hill House and enjoys glorious views across Horace Walpole’s 18th century naturalistic garden.

The café offers traditional afternoon tea served on tiered cake stands, with freshly baked scones, cakes and artisan mini buns all served with a freshly brewed selection of Bellevue Tea. All cakes are produced in their own bakery in South West London. Available to pre-book via Roots and Berries Afternoon Tea

The daily brunch/ lunch menu includes pastries, snacks and light lunch dishes such as homemade soups, toasties and crushed avocado on sourdough, all freshly prepared in the kitchen. The Roots & Berries team of chefs use seasonal and local ingredients and cater for all dietary needs.

Enjoy barista coffee from Curious Roo Coffee Roasters in Chiswick. You can also enjoy something stronger with a range of excellent wines (including organic), craft beers, or a Hayman’s Gin and Fever Tree tonic.

The café is open all year round from Saturday to Wednesday, 9am – 4pm and welcomes every customer with a smile and warm greeting. It is very child friendly with the safe garden offering ample opportunity to burn off excess energy from the little ones…

Come and enjoy all that we offer in the unique setting of Walpole’s Gothic castle!

Afternoon Tea

Our very special Afternoon Tea is now available to enjoy in the beautiful surroundings of The Garden Café at Horace Walpole’s Little Gothic Castle between Teddington and Twickenham.

Delightfully served on traditional tiered tea stands, you can choose from our Classic Afternoon Tea or the Vegetarian Garden Afternoon Tea menus. Both options feature a wonderful selection of delicious treats, freshly prepared by our talented chefs and artisan bakers, and accompanied by a variety of freshly brewed loose-leaf teas from around the world. The price includes complimentary refills of tea.

Bubbles do not need to be pre-ordered and can also be added when you arrive at the café.
