Tapestry weaving

About

Join us for a wonderful day of textile art with expert weaver Hilary Charlesworth.

In this full day course, Hilary will teach you all the skills necessary to produce your own tapestry woven landscape. Using a simple frame loom and a variety of yarns, you'll spend the day learning how to weave your design, using various techniques, both traditional and 3D.

All materials, including loom and yarns, are included, so you'll be able to continue working at home on your picture.

The workshop is suitable for both beginners and those with some prior experience of tapestry weaving, who want to practise and extend their skills.

We'll provide lots of tea, coffee and cake throughout the day and there will be a break for lunch, when you can either eat a packed lunch or treat yourself at one of the many cafes in Teddington.

Hilary is a very experienced teacher who's been spinning and weaving for almost 30 years and has been featured on Kirsty Alsopp's "Homemade House".

"wonderful day. Hilary is a great teacher – patient, clear expectations and lots of humour"

"super class – great range of techniques and very absorbing"
