Katriona Quintet

About

The outstanding jazz vocalist Katriona Taylor performs classic 80s hits from great artists such as Queen, Prince, Madonna, Stevie Wonder, Sade and Blondie in a truly innovative show with the arrangements fully styled in the jazz idiom and quite different from the original versions of the songs.

The Katriona Taylor Quintet “The Best of 80s Jazzed”:

Katriona creatively reworks material from one of music’s most colourful decades with her own unique Jazz & Latin arrangements, her phrasing and choice of lines are in a jazz style, breathing new life into 80's material and appealing to jazz audiences, whilst also providing a new platform for those who like this popular decade of music. One example of this is “Sade’s Your love Is King” transformed into a 3/4 jazz ballad.

An established artist on the UK jazz scene, with 6 albums released to date, Katriona is equally at home on the intimate Bull’s Head Jazz Club stage or performing internationally to an audience of thousands. Katriona has received countless plaudits for her polished live performances and has also supported the legendary 10 times Grammy Award winner George Benson on his world tour and The James Taylor Quartet, amongst others.
