About
Join Veronica Schroter, local resident and Leg o'Mutton committee member on a springtime stroll around this Local Nature Reserve. Built in 1838, the Leg o' Mutton Reservoir supplied water until its decommission in 1960. Today, measuring just 800 x 100m (8.2ha), this linear site next to the river offers shelter and haven to a wealth of birds and other wildlife.
Spring is a lovely time to explore the reservoir, walking under the blossoming trees and listening for bird song and the croaking of Marsh frogs.
Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear sturdy footwear. If it's warm, bring a bottle of water with you.
