Tuesday 1st October, 7.30pm – York House, Clarendon Hall 45th anniversary talk
Keith Betton The State of Hampshire's Birds
We welcome back Keith Betton, our Group's first leader (at the age of 18!) to help us celebrate its 45th anniversary. As Chair of the Hampshire Ornithological Society and past County Recorder, Keith is perfectly placed to tell us about the changing fortunes of 45 bird species in Hampshire. The county hosted Britain's first Firecrests, Cetti's Warblers and Mediterranean Gulls and also has around 250 pairs of Lesser Spotted Woodpecker and 25 pairs of Stone Curlew. He has recently revised the popular guidebook 'Where to Watch Birds in Dorset, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight'.
Non members of our local RSPB group are welcome to attend for a £5.00 donation payable at the event.
