Orval Day

About

Join us at Brewery Market for a charming and merry event on Saturday 23rd March to celebrate Orval Day.

Orval is a Trappist Belgian pale ale produced at the Brasserie d’Orval within the walls of the Abbaye Notre-Dame d’Orval in the Gaume region of Belgium, Orval is one of the most renowned beers in the world. We’ll be celebrating by pouring free tasters of the bretted beer all day long followed by a three course Orval food pairing served at 7pm.

From 7pm we’ll dive into the Orval legend and how the beer got its name almost 1,000 years ago when a princess accidentally dropped her ring into a spring and a trout returned it.

Spaces for this are very limited.

On Orval Day, devotees of Orval Trappist Ale (and maybe some folks who have not tried it yet) convene to celebrate one of the world’s unique and highly-respected beers.

Beer holidays have become like coveted traditions. In the fall, we wait with bated breath for International Zwanze Day for a chance to taste the limited Zwanze release from Cantillon. Similarly in the spring, we celebrate Orval Day.
