Linden Hall Community Centre 50th Anniversary

About

Since our grand opening on Saturday 11th October 1975 Linden Hall Community Centre in Hampton has offered continuous support for the local community, from the very young to the very young at heart! In 2025 we are proudly recognising our 50th anniversary. Please come and join us to see what goes on at your local community centre on Saturday 17th May 2025 when we will be hosting a Fun Open Day from 10am until 4pm.

Everyone is welcome and we are looking forward to sharing the work we do with you that day. Amongst other things we we will be offering you can come along and try a free taster session with one of our exercise classes. Or maybe bring the little ones to join in our nursery rhyme singing time for under 5s. If you prefer to sit and chat with others in your community please come and enjoy a cream tea, some homemade cakes, or a freshly brewed coffee. Outside in our garden you can wonder around our plant sale, take part in the tombola for some nice surprises and much more to be announced nearer the day.

Linden Hall is a charity run community centre that is open to all people, in and around Hampton. Our uniquely shaped building is situated in the heart of Hampton on Linden Road near the level crossing.

We offer a wide range of clubs, activities and support groups for people of all ages to enjoy.

We have fitness classes including Yoga, Pilates, Body Conditioning, Table Tennis, Short Mat Bowls, Zumba and Seated Exercise

Other fun activities include Sing Along sessions, Bingo, Quizzes, Games and entertainers from the local area.

You might also want to investigate some of our regular hirers including Slimming World, Starlight theatre group for children and adults, Gateway (our social evening for adults with learning difficulties), Congregational church, Reality dog training, the Women's Institute and many more.

On a Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, we cater for the over 55s to come and enjoy a friendly supportive day with others from the local community. If you are interested in joining your first session is FREE!
Come along and enjoy a freshly cooked two course lunch (£6 after your first session) and we promise you will find a great place for support and socialising with our other members whilst enjoying a freshly brewed cuppa. For our members, we have a hairdresser that visits every Thursday, and once a month the chiropodist drops in to keep you on your toes! Transport to and from the centre can also be arranged for those who require it via 'Hampton Enterprises' Community transport. Just give us a call and ask for Jackie.

For the little ones, Linden's Little Larks Parent and Toddler group for under 5s, runs on a Monday and Wednesday morning, 9.30 till 11.30 a.m. This offers a wide range of toys for children to enjoy and a wonderful place for parents and carers to meet and make new friends.

There are many other clubs and classes to enjoy and rooms available to hire for parties, classes and meetings, please contact the centre for availability.
As a charity ourselves, we like to support other charitable organisations.
"The Real Junk Food Project", runs out of the centre on Mondays at 2.30-4.30pm and Thursdays at 11.30am-1.30pm. They offer surplus food from local supermarkets on a pay what you feel basis. In addition, on Thursday hot drinks and soups are also available.

The Hampton Hygiene Bank also operates from Linden Hall collecting and distributing a wide range of hygiene products to help address Hygiene Poverty in the area.

If you have time to spare and want to get involved, Linden Hall is always looking for volunteers to help with a variety of tasks, including help with our social club or maintaining our garden. Even if you can only spare a few hours a week we would love to hear from you.

Finally, if you would like to have your say on what more we can offer for the local community please let us know at the email below or pop along in person to speak with our centre manager. We would love to hear from you.
