About
This is a Thames side walk with water side themes following the Thames from Kingston, via Richmond park, crossing the bridge back to the otherside of the Thames via Eel Pie Island, with many off its interesting Christmas themes, and following the historical pop legions of our modern music.
It is now an artists retreat, but In the 1960s was the largest hippy colony in Europe. It was also the crucible of rock and roll with The Who, Pink Floyd, David Bowie all played there. A young Freddy Mercury would spend his weekends there, Rod Stewart was discovered busking at Twickenham Station.
Returning to Twickenham, for those that wish, we can take a break for a drink at the Eel Pie Pub before going home.
There are bus connections from Twickenham where one can take a bus back to Hampton Court or tube connections. There are options to leave the walk at various locations on route also.
There are frequent trains between Twickenham and Clapham Junction station.
Guests and dogs are welcome!
