Every November, the EFG London Jazz Festival takes over the city, with a diverse line-up showcasing global stars and emerging talent.
As the biggest pan-city music festival in Europe, it brings over 100k audience members together at 300+ live shows at venues across the city, from basement jazz bars to the world’s finest concert halls. The festival is the highlight of the jazz calendar in the UK, with a long history of programming a wide variety of talent from around the world.
The festival was created in 1992 by live music producers Serious and celebrates its thirty-second iteration in 2024. The aims of the festival remain the same as ever; celebrating jazz and its place in London, giving artists a platform for their work, and bringing music venues across the capital to life.
'That glorious time of year when more live improvised music can be heard in the bars, clubs and concert halls of the capital than the rest of the year put together.'
The Independent
'The highlight of the capital’s jazz calendar’
The Telegraph
'The jazz club element, which runs parallel to the big concert hall and major space programme of the EFG London Jazz Festival, is a vital part of the continuing success and energy of the fest.'
Jazzwise Magazine
'While the smaller gigs all over the city are important in making the London Jazz Festival representative not only of jazz in the world but in this city, one of the most valuable things it achieves is the presentation of seriously important musicians who have brought so much to this area of music down the years, but whom we don't get to hear nearly often enough'
