Gypsy Kiss and Ruby Dawn

About

Gypsy’s Kiss celebrated their 50th Anniversary in 2024 having been formed in East London in 1974 by David Smith & Iron Maiden’s Steve Harris and they sit proudly atop the ‘Iron Maiden Family Tree’. Reformed by David in 2018, this ‘hard rocking band’ have released 7 singles and 2 critically acclaimed albums (with a new one on the way in 2025) although their strength and passion remains in live performance. They have gigged extensively over the past few years playing venues and festivals throughout the UK and Europe (including a tour with Maiden’s Paul Di’Anno and gigs with Praying Mantis and Blaze Bailey).Their multi guitar and keyboard line up produces a sound that is often likened to 70’s rock greats such as Wishbone Ash, Thin Lizzy, Uriah Heep and Atomic Rooster but with a distinctly modern edge.Their performance at the Bootleg Ball in Butlins Minehead in January 2025 earned them an audience voted winners spot on the ‘Introducing Rock Stage’.RemoveThe line up is David Smith (Vocals and Guitars), Jonathan Morley (Guitars and BVs), Fraser Marr (Guitars), Ross Hunter (Keys and BVs), Robin Gatcum (Bass) and Stuart Emms (Drums). RUBY DAWN is a unique band with a powerful, hypnotic, and emotionally charged sound that captivates audiences wherever they play. Their meticulously crafted lyrics, panoramic soundscapes, and sonically uplifting, intensely emotive guitar create an immense listening experience. Ruby Dawn has built a strong live reputation in the prog/alternative rock scene, with performances at Fusion Festival, Prog For Peart, Summer’s End, The Nene Valley Rock Festival, and Prog The Forest. Their music has also been featured on BBC Introducing and numerous rock and prog stations in the UK and overseas. The band was featured in Prog Magazine’s Limelight section (Issue 155) and was voted among the Top Ten Bands of 2024 in the Best Band category. Their debut album, Beyond Tomorrow, and their critically acclaimed second release, Blood on Water, have received overwhelmingly positive reviews. With airplay across Europe and America on internet radio—and multiple features on BBC Introducing—Ruby Dawn is a “singular force of nature to be reckoned with in the modern prog world.
