Richmond upon Thames is home to Twickenham Stadium, the iconic home of England Rugby, get a behind the scenes look at the famous rugby stadium and learn about the legends. The award winning World Rugby Museum is the definitive home from everything and anything about rugby. At the World Rugby Museum, you can test out your sporting abilities in their interactive play rugby zone and look through the vast collection of memorabilia from all around the world.

The Museum of Richmond tells the story of Richmond upon Thames from prehistory, through its rise in prominence as a royal residence in the medieval period, to its modern status as a centre for arts and fashion. The origins of the museum date to the early 1980’s and in 1988 Queen Elizabeth II formally opened it. The museums collection has grown over the years to include over 5,000 objects from toys to uniforms and switchboards to maps.

Music is an important part of Richmond’s history! Eel Pie Island Hotel hosted all the Jazz Greats and early Rolling Stones, Rod Stewart, David Bowie and Pink Floyd gigs during the 60’s and many more during the 70’s before it burnt down in 1971. Now we have The Eel Pie Island Museum which tells the fascinating history of Eel Pie Island and the greats that performed there.

Orleans House Gallery presents a year-round programme of exhibitions across two spaces – they host live events, educational programs and seasonal shows to support local artists by selling and exhibiting their work.
